Being the best or truest of a kind; quintessential: an emcee par excellence.
[French : par, by + excellence, preeminence.]
If I had to choose a fancy word to describe Jus Blak, par excellence would be it. Preeminence on the mic. Hailing from Uniondale, Long Island, having lived in Atlanta for several years, Jus Blak carries the flame for true artistry and authenticity in Hip Hop. Not to compare the two, but as a point of reference think of Nas if he never succumbed to the pressure to keep up with the Joneses (Pun intended). This emcee has in depth story telling ability and an effortless flow to wash it down with. Jus Blak, throughout all of Hip Hop's fads has remained true to he is as a man as well as as an artist. I really don't know how you can separate the two!
As far as a catalog, Jus Blak is a studio junkie who drops songs on a daily basis -- without fail! If ytou don't believe me check him on Facebook for yourself. Get at him for collabs too. And don't expect the "bougie rapper" treatment, as Jus explains. "I do this for the love", says Jus Blak. In my opinion, this is what separate the pioneers from the peons. Doing something just because you love doing it.
The next movement for Jus Blak is The Raw Meat Project as well as The Soul Food Project. Self explanatory. Jus is a frequent collaborator with Hakim of Suns of Light (formerly the front man for the kid group The Boyz). Heads from 18 to 80 will appreciate what Jus brings to the table.
